September was a really busy month.  I went to watch Brendan and Steve race just about every weekend and in a number of different states and time zones. I also got to see Steve race modifieds the first week of October. Instead of writing about the whole thing I decided just to post some pictures.  I took over a thousand pictures in those weeks, but I cut them down to a few. :)

You've had a long career, from karts to Craftsman Trucks and now the Busch Series and you travel a lot, so what's your worst hotel experience?

Jon Wood: My worst hotel experience was this one time in Amelia, Va., which is kind of near Richmond.

Brian Vickers and myself raced karts at the same time; so every week we had our own hotel room, just the two of us. One week my dad would pay for it and the next week his dad would pay for it.

And my dad was always at the Cup races. So this one Friday night, and we were only 13 so we didn't know any better -- and our hotel room came equipped with a microwave.

So we thought it would be cool to find stuff in the room and put it in the microwave. So we put the soap in there, and a shoe -- a pillow. It seemed like the TV remote control was the next thing in line.

So we put that TV remote in the microwave and put it up to about 10 minutes and about two minutes into the deal it was just a puddle of plastic. So we went running outside and poured it in the parking lot.

We didn't get to throw it -- we had to pour it because it was solid liquid. And I think the hotel owner saw us. So he came into the room and said that we could no longer stay there that night.

It was late and we had to race the next day, so I called my dad and said, "What do you want me to do? Where do I stay?" And he said, "Well, it's up to you."

So I had to sleep in the back of the pickup truck that we drove to the track in. It was not a good idea. I was never allowed to stay at that hotel in Amelia, again

Stewie won the race today!!!  I think that is my only cup driver that did well today, and he won!  Kasey had a mechanical problem and he also hit Brian.  It ended up good for Kasey that Brian was there, because he could have slammed head first into the wall.  Jimmie also had problems.  His transmission broke twice, and he lost his huge points lead.

Sassy got to go to the race, and I am so jealous of her!  She even got to stand near victory lane and watch Stewie win!  She was sending me pictures from the track, and they were cool.  I can't wait to see the rest!  But I hope her 3 mile mountain hike isn't as bad as I think it would be. 

I loved the truck race Saturday!  It was a little boring to watch, because Setzer was lapping everyone.  But Brendan ended up 5th and Steve was 7th!!!  I was upset they didn't interview Brendan, but then I found out that Steve had to be helped out of the car.  He sat down and was given cold cloths and water.  I hope he's feeling better!

At church tonight, the Hamlet's were visiting!  Mara looks so much like Bethie.  Blaine was also there with the baby. :)

My upcoming events include the big party on the 2nd, Pocono, NHIS, Kasey's picnic, maybe Waterville, NHIS again and Vegas!  I don't know what else, but those things rock!
